Miranda's Prom

Miranda and her prom date Eric...they are just friends. They had a good time, although they say the dance was a bit crowded and boring.

Hierarchal Progression

This is just a simple design, easy to read. I went with the blue on top to be like the sky and then use the black as a more serious earthy text. The important part is to get the name of the Marathon, which is in the bolder dark text.

On this second one, I wanted to be more fun with the words. The rainbow came to mind, first as the element that appears a lot in Juneau with the rain and sun being able to co-exist. The other thing is diversity and the runners in a marathon will be a diverse group in many respects. Every one of those runners will have their own reason why running 26.2 miles in a good idea. I separated it out so that the rainbow colors could be read on their own and still make sense, as did the gray colors...which by the way I picked to be the clouds.

This last one was an attempt to get the eye to have to focus on two important things. Juneau Alaska and to run the Frank Maier Marathon. When viewing this I think the eye goes first to the what: run the Frank Maier Marathon and then to the where: Juneau Alaska and finally the why: See. Then once all the single elements are read the eye wants to go from left to right and top to bottom then reading the complete phrase.
